There is a proposal to close SHILLINGSTONE LANE, LANCHARDS/POPLAR HILL, OKEFORD FITZPAINE/SHILLINGSTONE, from the junction of Shillingstone Lane, Okeford Fitzpaine to the junction of Poplar Hill, Shillingstone, a distance of approximately 1,900 metres. The closure has been requested to allow Openreach engineers access to their underground structures in the highway for cabling purposes.
These works are programmed to commence on Monday 04 June 2018 for 19 days with an end date of Friday 22 June 2018. The works will take place between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs, weekdays only. The road will be open at all other times. The road closure, which will be introduced in phases indicated by traffic signs on the road, is necessary for safety reasons, as the works will take place within the whole width of the carriageway.
The road closure will be publicised in a number of ways: information boards will be placed on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the works; letters will be sent to local residents directly affected by the works; and a vehicular diversion route will be in place. The map (above) shows the full extent of the closure (in red) and the signed diversion route (in blue).
If you have any concerns about this proposal, please contact John Alford (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday 11 May 2018.
